A latest Synovate /Marketing Daily survey conducted online with 1,000 adults in the US from July 30-August 1 reveals blogosphere hitting the mainstream and women not in a mood to give rest to their fingers.

Figures state an inclination towards female gender than male in terms of whopping number of bloggers. As per the survey, around 80% of Americans are familiar with blogs, 50% cannot afford to overlook blogs as they visit them habitually and 8% takes pleasure in publishing their own blog. The survey emphasized 20% of American women blessed with their own blogs vs. 14 % of men. This %age difference says it all about the efficiency, capability and reach of women.

Tom Mularz, senior vice president, Synovate said: “Besides bloggers being experts in their niche domain, blogs aren’t considered as valid source of information as bloggers here emerge out of their own wish, anytime and anywhere. But a change is expected as its growing distinction is catching eyeballs.”

Self-less/ Selfish Reason for visiting Blogs

65% believe blogs serve them with opinions, 39% eye for news and 38% with their entertainment motives. One out of three visitor loves reading gossip on blogs while only 2% use this medium to catch upon news about family, friends and acquaintances.

Allegiance remains on priority in blogging culture. Want Figures? Around 46% of blog readers stick to particular blogs for their source of information against 54% who love playing with varied ones. A detailed study of the survey portrayed it well that besides gender, its age that catches attention. Younger generation is more vigorous and keen about the activities happening at blogging front, as nearly 90% of creatures between age group 25-34 know what a blog as against to mere 65% of those above 65 years.

Following this, nearly 78% of those aged 18 to 24 who claims to be aware of blogs have made an effort to visit a blog as against to 45% of older Americans. The bulk of blog-lovers (39%) makes the point to view it once within a month. Having said this, around 28% visit them monthly, 15% daily and 5% resides here only as makes several visits in a day.

Can Blogging beat other forms of media?
