Salman in jail, Sanjay out on bail…!!

Saturday, August 25th, 2007 | Justice, Law with 1 Comment

Lets have a look at the sorry state of the Indian law and justice…

Salman Khan, one of the most distinguished tycoons of Bollywood has been given five-year prison term in the blackbuck poaching case. On the other hand, an equally renowned figure from the field of films, Sanjay Dutt, was given six years punishment for illegal possession of weapons in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

Salman in jail, Sanjay out on bail…!!

Now what irritates me is the fact that the time period of the punishment for the two diametrically opposite acts, or rather crimes is almost same! While one’s guilt is an act of pure pleasure (though killing of innocent animals just for fun is also a heinous crime), the other is a part of a very conscious crime resulting in disastrous deaths of thousands of faultless people. If killing of three cinkaras and playing a role, though only a minor one, in the gruesome Mumbai mishap put you behind the bars for almost the same time period, what kind of a justice do you call it?

Neither I have a fascination for Salman, nor a dislike for Sanjay, both are very famous and fabulous actors of Indian cinema. My intention here is not to harm the reputation of either of them, but my sole motive is to shed some light on the Indian judicial system and also to put forth the disturbing ideas that cajoled me up to exhibit them.

Salman in jail, Sanjay out on bail…!!

Rubina Memon, wife of Tiger Memon’s brother Suleiman Memon, was found guilty of allowing her Maruti van for transporting weapons and arms and has been given life term.

Now another question that pops up in my mind is that whether actual possession of illegal weapons or someone else using your Maruti van, which one is a more dangerous crime? Giving six years imprisonment to a happening hero of Bollywood and life term to a burkha clad woman, how do you justify it?

And look what the Judge Pramod Kode of the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) Court says, ‘The sentencing has nothing to do with the relationship of the convicts with the prime accused absconding Tiger Memon. But for the acts they have committed.’

The blind-folded lady, the epitome of justice, whether it has the magical power of imparting justice even without opening its eyes, or is it doing justice blindly…??

Adnan murder

A 16-year-old Adnan Patrawala, Class XII student, who was missing for last two-days, is now no more with us. Cops have come across his dead-body today evening (20 August) placed in his own vehicle (Skoda). The vehicle was found in the up market Palm Beach road near Panvel, Mumbai. Earlier reports claim that the boy have been strangled to death this morning.

Adnan Patrawala

Followed by his kidnap, his parents did received a call asking for a ransom amounting Rs2 crore. The whole-plot seems to be weaved in a witty manner. Taking his education from CWC college in Mumbai, the boy was last seen on 18 August at his residence in Oshiwara in suburban (Mumbai). Then minutes after he left to meet his friends and never came back, as a result of which his parents lodged a complaint. Police is suspecting three of Adnan’s friends i.e. Raj, Lala and Himanshu behind this conspiracy. Also sources claim that Himanshu is mastermind behind his abduction.

The above details are the facts behind Adnan’s murder. But how far are these facts correct/ trustworthy?
Eyebrows are raised when one makes an effort to go through his profile at ORKUT, our renowned social community that has become an abode for everyone from students to celebs.
While six-days back, ***AnGeL*** had the following conversation with somebody using a pseudo name ***AnGeL***:

angel orkut

***AnGeL***: Yup m der.. But ver da hell r yu?? I just went on net tat day ven i waz in skool.. I had 2 rep u coz, hmmm
***AnGeL***: U wanna meet me?? lez meet up na! wot say?
Adnan: MEET?? i dont even know you….wer do u stay..,u got a cell phone?

Adnan: give me ur no if u can..
***AnGeL***: Sure i dun mind.. Actly u knw wot i seri lkd ur PIC.. ONLY pic!!
***AnGeL***: Dont worry.. m quite gud lukin’..
Adnan: y dont u reply ….
***AnGeL***: HMMM.. Not xactly.. i lkd ur attitude 2.. ne wayz i gotta go nw.. BUHH BYEEE!!!!!

Following is the two-day back conversation Adnan has had with ***AnGeL***:
Adnan: Hiii
wer do u stay?
and i need to c ur pic …if u wanna meet me otherwise FORGETIT
i stay LOKHANDWALA
u wanna meet or no tell me now..
WATZ DAT qutub mean??
okk fine get him along ….than even ill get ma frndz along
ofcors i m deleting urz also
i kn u din like ma attitide…, u jas liked ma PIC RIGHT
i need to c ur pic 1st than ill cum to kn naa who r u…..
no dont go wait

The endless count of prayers at Adnan’s scrapbook has strengthened my belief that majority of good people still exist to overrule the deeds done by minority group comprising of kidnappers and greedy lot. I think the strong voice of Adnan’s well-wishers will surely earn justice for him. Here are few of the condolences made by almost each of his friend, relative, acquaintance and even strangers.

“May god give strength to ur near and dear ones”
“Rest in peace bro may god bless ur soul”
“Feeling sorry for u bro,god will give u another good life ahead, i can just pray for u ,and i m sure god will do justice, and give u and ur family justice by punishing those bastards, by bro ,may god bless ur soul,i hope u will come soon in another way on earth”
“May ur soul rest in peace adnan….i dnt know u buddy bt still feeling very bad….really don’t know what has happen to this world…full of cruel men all around…..”

More than the police investigations, the conversation clearly demystify that ***AnGeL*** has plans to meet Adnan along with her friends that’s why Adnan mentioned that he will also come along with his friends. Now, they call it a driving over-dose or conspiracy by Himanshu, the truth is Adnan is not with us.
I will appreciate all my readers, stand for a minute and give a bow of respect for him and wish peace for his soul.

critics

The local activist David esrati had wear the ninja type mask for addressing the Dayton city commission on last Wednesday night did not get the similar sock which he got when he did in 1996, when he was arrested to refuse the take off the hood, the charge which is situated on David Esrati in 19967 was dismissed.

David Esrati told the commoners on Wednesday night “To repeat you how important resident participation is, I thought I would take this back out”. “Any constraint on citizen members is a mistake”.
Two weeks ago Esrati had hoped the commission to address for proposed Kroger development at Wayne Avenue and Wyoming Street and he had submit the request after business meeting for speak which is totally against the rule of commission then how the commission has agreed for this proposal.

Rashad Young the city manager said that he has a right to wear mask what ever he want to tell the commission but it is not disgusting.

World’s heaviest man-a prospective category for the Guinness World Records

Thursday, August 9th, 2007 | News with No Comments »

World’s heaviest man

Meet the World’s heaviest man–Manuel Uribe. This is his undated pic sitting on bed at home in Monterrey. Craig Glenday, editor of the book of Guinness World Records is travelling to Mexico to meet Uribe.

Doubt of the team deters Glenday, making him forcefully think that about the importance of creating every category for the annual publication.

World’s heaviest man

Without a second thought, creating a separate category for Uribe at Gunisess’s space makes perfect sense. Give me one good reason why Glenday should give blind eye and deaf ears to the blissful state of Uribe.

Google invites comments on stories; ready to offer links to original stories

Thursday, August 9th, 2007 | Internet, Media, News with No Comments »

Google Inc has begun allowing participants in news stories to post comments about the articles through its news service, a move that is raising questions in the media industry, a report said today.

The Internet search giant’s ‘Google News´ posts links and excerpts to articles from more than 4,500 English-language news sources, and in an experimental project, the company this week began soliciting comments from individuals and groups cited in stories it carries and displaying the comments alongside links to the original stories, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The company, which is working to verify the identities of those posting comments, said it started the project to make additional perspectives on the news available to readers.

But its announcement of the feature on a Google blog late Tuesday attracted attention among media organisations, which have at times had uneasy relationships with the Internet company, including fights over its right to excerpt their content in Google News without paying.

Some media watchers questioned whether Google is “effectively setting itself up as an ombudsman to field gripes with their coverage, and whether that is an appropriate role,” the Journal said.
Other news sites allow anyone to comment on stories — without requiring that they have a direct link to them — and carry links to blogs with such commentary.

Can music-shows broadcast development goals?

Sunday, August 5th, 2007 | Television with No Comments »

In the first initiative of its kind, several celebrities will come together for a music- based reality TV show that will promote the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals in India.

music-shows

The show titled “Ustaad” will be produced by the UN along with the Indian arm of Endemol, the entertainment company behind the hit show “Big Brother”.

The star-studded show will take forward some of the UN’s key socio-economic issues that require immediate attention through an interactive and entertaining medium.

“The programme, which will be launched in November, brings together two powerful mediums — television and music — to provide a platform to reach out to audiences across the country on issues like poverty, health, education and environment,” Rajesh Kamat, managing director of Endemol India, told PTI.

The company has produced TV blockbusters like “Big Boss”, “Fear Factor India”, “Deal Ya No Deal”, “Heart Beat” and the “Great Indian Laughter Challenge”.

The company decided to rope in eminent personalities, artists, musicians and singers for promoting the eight MGDs in the country. It, however, refused to disclose their names.

“We are pleased to be partnering in producing an innovative music show that will inspire millions of Indians across generations to take up the cause of the MDGs as their own,” UN Resident Coordinator Maxine Olson said.
